"NYC-based Singer/Songwriter Craig Greenberg got his start while living abroad, seeking out his "musical soul" on the streets and in the bars of South America and Spain. He returned home to NY in late 2004 and began immersing himself in the ever-thriving NYC music scene. Craig is a largely self-taught musician, and writes and performs on both piano and guitar. He is known for his soulful, endearing (and at times, in your face) vocals and his general strong musicality. His sound has been compared to artists such as Ben Folds, Billy Joel, Queen, Elton John, Coldplay, Randy Newman, Dave Matthews, and Paul Simon. Craig's songs, in content and feel, run the gamut from light-hearted and tongue and cheek, to quite dark and edgy. It's this range that sets him apart as a songwriter. Craig has toured solo, and as well as an opener for NYC and Portland, OR based songwriter Jerry Joseph (Jackmormons, Stockholm Syndrome) at shows in the northwest and northeast, and in Costa Rica over a New Year's '05 and '06 run. Craig has performed all around NYC - past venues include the Living Room, BB King's, Rockwood Music Hall, Sullivan Hall, Pianos, Banjo Jims, the Bitter End, Caffe Vivaldi, Sidewalk Cafe, et.al,, In November of '07, Craig co-produced and released his first EP, entitled "The World and Back", and is now working on his second release, which he plans to complete in 2010. |
